Picking up as much information as possible from the signals your opponents give is key to improving match play and developing awareness in the rally. Professional players are so good at reading and understanding the game because they are able to focus on what the opponent is doing and therefore can react quicker to the type of shot or placement changes earlier. In this video we look at what information and cues your opponents may be giving you when they play each shot, just by having slightly more focus on the other side of the table and what is happening can have a huge impact on the quality and speed of your decision making for each shot. We also include a couple of training drills to help you start picking up these cues better.
