Coach CornerPsychologyincorporating-better-fh-topspin-technique-into-match-play

Hey Dan & Tom,

I’ve been taking lessons to help improve my form, which has meant unlearning a lot of bad habits, on my FH especially.

Consistently looping backspin or regular FH topspin against multi ball or on drills is no problem, but I find myself feeling very tentative when playing games, often thinking about my form when hitting forehand ups or even during rallies.

Unsurprisingly, I find myself missing easy shots or playing very tentatively, unwilling to really commit to my FH out of fear or missing or hitting with poor form. If I try and play without paying attention to this, I feel like I revert back to my bad habits quickly.

What would you guys do here? Is this a matter of simply playing more matches / training random balls or is there something else I’m not seeing?

Thanks and appreciate everything y’all do
