Coach CornerServe and ReceivePull-away-follow-through on serves

Hi Dan and Tom. What do you think of an alternative to the forward  follow through on the serve, where you don’t go forward, but yank the bat quickly behind you after contact? It seems like it would help with disguise as long as you make sure you complete the proper contact. on the serve. Thanks.

Hi Slicepong,

Yes thats definitely correct, if you can create some quick after movements with the bat after the contact has been made it can help with disguising the spin. Just be careful as you said to make sure you fully complete the serve and still get a good quality contact on the ball. Also try not to over exaggerate the after movement as this can make it obvious you are simply trying to deceive the opponent. Sometimes less is more, but give it a try and experiment with your finishing position and follow through to see what you can build into your serves! 🙂
