Hey Raino,
I think if you explained to people that because of a physical problem it is easier and quicker to use the ball picker then it would be allowed and most people would have no problem with this. I think under the table would be fine on your own side but I think the best solution is to ask the umpire if it’s OK and where is the best place to keep it.
