Answer for pivot-shot

Cheers Tom very Helpful. I think a detailed video reiterating all this would be beneficial. You are correct I am confident and capable on my Bh this was as u say for me to use as a powerful shot to kinda finish a point. One thing I have noticed with myself is that whenever I pivot I seem to always go cross to opponents Bh corner. This is great if I get a powerful shot in that goes off side of table but if I place it more towards the bat then it’s trouble. My team mate I played with this season played pivot fantastically well and almost every time went down the line instead of cross court but always managed to get a winner. I know downside of going down line is you create a much bigger angle for your opponent to block u.
Also would you use it particularly as a open up or 3rd ball attack. If so what particular serve would it be best used with? Today I did a jab backspin serve to Bh side which was pushed back and I played a pivot powerful 3rd ball and won point outright however another time I did same serve which instead of my partner pushing back flicked to my fh and I was caught out as I already started pivoting!!!
Finally would it generally be good to follow up a bh open up with a pivot. If I play a bh open up cross the chances are I would get a block back and I would pivot and play a powerful 4th ball fh?
Cheers Deep
