Answer for pivot-shot

No problem, yes I will get onto making that this week I think. Yes placement is key and avoiding playing too often straight into the opponents backhand is important as they can block it back quickly sometimes, going down the line is good and you can catch them out of position, of course there is a little less margin for error and the angle is more for them to catch you wide if they do get there. The best and most safe area to go is the body or elbow of the opponents.

For pivoting on an open up it can definitely be effective, if you serve short and wide into the backhand corner that gives you the most likely angle for a return to come into your backhand side. I use a sidespin pendulum serve into that area and get some chances to pivot after that I find. On your last point I would say yes it can be really good to pivot after a back hand open up but only if it’s a good quality shot and puts the opponent under pressure, of course it needs to be played cross court as you said.
