Answer for Please analyze my technique.

Hey Job, That’s great to hear you are enjoying the Academy and great that you are already playing at a good national level in Netherlands and trying to improve! We look forward to seeing a match video after lock down that will be great.

I’ve just had a look at the videos you sent, you’ve got all the basics there and pretty solid technique so that’s always important. So a few things to focus on I would say: When you pivot to play your forehand your bat goes a little bit across the body, try to get it to finish in front with your body weight going forward, this will help with your power and also your recovery too.

I really like your backhand technique that looks very nice, keep up the relaxed arm and just accelerate using the wrist at the end of the shot just before you contact the ball. The only thing to watch out for is making sure to not hit the ball too far away from your body on the backhand, if you can contact it a touch closer to you, you’ll find its easier to generate power and your control will be better too.

On the forehand video again it looks good and only small areas to work on and think about. On your back swing I think you can straighten your arm a little more so when you hit through the shot you get even more snap with the elbow. Again make sure you aren’t finishing across the body at all and try to brush a little more over the top of the ball with a closed bat angle, this will help with getting more topspin on the ball. If you find it difficult to hit over the top of the ball try to keep your bat a bit higher on the back swing and through the shot.

Anyway as I said these are very small changes and improvements, your shots are strong and don’t need big changes, I hope that is helpful and keep up the good training!
