Hi guys. Hope your keeping well and no doubt back on the table. Look forward to some new videos and equipment reviews when you have them out.
just a couple of queries regarding training. I have been back training 2 wks with 1:1 and even though first couple of sessions were aweful I have got myself back into rhythm similar to pre lockdown (fitness aside).
I habe been doing quite a few drills one of which was switch down line with backhand. I have seen your video and coach has been helping me and he actually does it ridiculously easily but he does it as a punch block. I have technical question regarding timing and the stroke. I play my Bh as taught from centre of my body but when going down line would you take the timing fractional late so timing would be slightly to the left of centre so it’s easier to go down the line? What I noticed was if I took the ball central and tried to change angle down line I would lean my right shoulder down to get inside the line which kinda gives away the change but when I waited slightly later my stroke didn’t change much to play it down line so to me the slightly later timing point is best way to disguise that I’m going down line. Secondly I’m generally a top to top player but I can punch well on Bh so would the stroke be a punch or a topspin. I know either way the stroke is short and fast with the direction change.
