Yeah keep and eye out we’ve got a big announcement and video coming soon! I would say that’s a big part of why you are tense if your grip can get too tight, it will affect your arm and whole body. So definitely try to focus on keeping a relaxed grip and also smooth action in your strokes to stay loose.
The best advice for focusing on the pause and backswing is thinking about breaking the shot into 2 parts and actually counting in your head, so 1 is the backswing rotation back and pause and then 2 is swinging forward and acceleration through the ball.
You’re definitely right about solid counter topspin shots on both sides, in the modern game these are vital and I would say that’s a huge area to work on and will help you in being relaxed as you have to use the spin and speed from the opponents shots more. Other advice for your game I would say is work on the transition from short balls, or returning and coming out for the open up and 5th ball. Serve and return often dictates who gets the first attack and the upper hand in the rally!
