Hi Tom. I apologise in advance for multiple messages. Last night played few matches at old club. Played against the 2 wing looper but very closely fought but lost 3-2. Very thin margin between winning and losing but was very good game. Played well and applied ta tics quite well other than few mistakes here or there and losing 4th set when 2-1 up and 9-7 up I can’t think of anything I did drastically well.
2nd match against long pips player but had no problems there winning 3-0 even though switched off when 10-4 up for few points I think I had game and tactics on point.
3rd match against my mate who trains with me at regular club. He went 2-0 up before I switched it on to win 3-2. I noticed past couple of times he seems to have changed tactics against me. U May remember me saying he doesn’t seem to attack first as he makes unforced errors. His strength seems to be in blocking and countering a weak attack of mine. His recent tactics has been to push to my middle a lot not allowing me to get a free flowing open up in either fh or Bh. I admit he has been blocking very well recently.
It didn’t help in first couple games I made unforced errors on my fh open up and fh in general a bit.
any advice on how to tackle this push to middle he does. I like getting into attack mode and even though we discussed I don’t need to attack straight away if he isn’t going to but I certainly don’t want to get into pushing rally with him as it breaks the attacking rhythm. I’m at my best when I’m in attack mode rather than pushing too many.
