Answer for match-analysis

Hi Deep,

I would say your style is a solid all round attacking player, you’re not an all out power player but also I think you’re not a blocker, it’s a nice balance between the two. But I would absolutely agree with what you said above, sometimes you focused so much in the spjn when blocking, I feel if you can have more of an active block or counter attack s this will benefit you a lot!

On the practice partners, I know this problem extremely well, I have nobody in my area to train with of a similar standard but sometimes it’s just about taking the best elements from each different player. For example I train with a guy who’s match level is low but he has a great block so I practice drills without serve and return against him so I get the most out of it. Then I play another guy with a good heavy topspin so I train counter attack and active blocking with him, and so on. But yes it’s difficult to get the serve and return quality and then in matches it’s tough, more matches will help of course like British league and tournaments. Just about getting as much exposure as possible but I know its hard.

Maybe it’s a case of travelling a bit outside your area to find different training partners, of course that’s not easy either. What I would say though is you can still improve it with practice even against weaker serves, playing more aggressive returns or better quality pushing or short touches.

Hope that helps, Tom
