Hey! Sorry about the slow reply. So I can definitely see improvements here already that’s for sure! I would say you can now focus on trying to have your arm a little bit more relaxed and then you will get a bit more hinge from your elbow and lower arm which will help the acceleration through the ball. Also if you can try to keep your body a little bit more forward and low this will really help you stay balanced and keep the energy through each shot.
So the start position foe the forehand against backspin depends on the ball coming to you, the length, speed, spin etc. But of course with this shot you have to drop the bat slightly more to work against the spin and brush up the ball with topspin. With the normal forehand stroke you don’t need to drop the bat as much and you can brush over the top of the ball more. Both shots should not finish across the body but in front of your face/head and with a fairly short follow though to help a quick recovery.
