Yes short pimples can be difficult if you aren’t used to playing against them. So the most important thing against short pimples is that when they hit with it, the ball comes through flatter and with less spin so you need to focus on brushing the ball well and getting good topspin.
Try to make sure you aren’t too close to the table and have enough space to play a relaxed topspin and not rushing. Also the ball may come through slightly slower so the timing on each shot is important, so waiting for the ball to come through to you and not rushing in.
Lastly I would say that variation against these types of players is important, so mix up your speed, spin and placement so they don’t get used to hitting with the pimples on the same shot each time. Let us know how you get on 🙂
