Hey Resznotes, it’s always better to play a forehand from the middle of the table where possible because the movement is more economical and you will often end up out of position if you play a backhand from the middle. Of course sometimes you get caught out and end up having to play a backhand there but most of the time it’s better to improve the footwork and movement and get into position to play your forehand there. It’s just working on this hop that Dan does as you said.
