Coach CornerTechniquesbackhand-open-up-and-normal-backhand-topspin

Hi Dam and Tom, hope your doing well, I’m having this issue for quite a while now. I’m getting mixed up with my muscle memory of my BH topspin. When I practice the BH open up I’m able to get the ball on well, but after a couple of days something is quite off with my regular BH topspin and vice versa. I hope you understand what I mean here. What should I do in this case?
Thanks.

Hey Hamza, sorry I missed this question! Yes I know what you mean I think you need to practice linking both together so doing lots of open ups but then follow up with a normal backhand topspin. This will help you get the transition between the two. Make sure after the open up you get the bat up and over the next shot to keep the ball down and avoid it going long.
I also think if you practice plenty of this and getting the shots going well together you will find the muscle memory is there for both shots. Let us know how you get on!
