Answer for Progress – July update

Hi Tom, thanks for your detailed reply I appreciate it.

On the equipment – totally agree – I played with the same setup all last season, so just need to decide. The Cybershape feels quite head heavy in the hand, but lets see why i play with it. Excited to try it though.

Thats a good point on the forehand timing point. So Graeme has been working on me getting a bigger backswing and more transition in power so not the same speed backwards then forwards – if that makes sense? So I feel my timing may be out because of this so will keep it in mind.

But the idea of leaning forwards is something Graeme always picks me up about so good that you notice it too – I think that will help make the movement more stable.

Plenty to work on – but progress being made I think 🙂

The biggest thing I struggle with and Graeme is struggling to make a breakthrough with is serving. I just don’t seem to get the technique right to generate heavy spin. Its a mixture of getting everything synced up. The flex and whip, contact point, and speed. I feel like I have it right in my head but then when i watch it back its totally different and awful. I feel like its an impossible question – but is there a way i can break it down and practice at home /not on the table to help make improvements?

Cheers
Jimmy
