Coach CornerFun games for practice
Rubén Illera López asked 5 months ago

Hi all! I have recently joined the academy and I am very pleased with it so far.
As a new coach, I am coaching in different places and find it difficult to come up with fun games to keep beginner and younger players engaged. Do you have any videos or resources about this?
Thank you!

Hey Ruben, welcome to the Academy and we’re happy you’re finding it helpful already! Yes this can always be tricky to keep the younger kids having fun and engaged. I would say one of the best and easy ones to do it targets on the table, and trying to hit them or knock them off. I can be anything really, cones or bottles, just something for them to see and aim for.

Also with kids even when doing normal exercises give them a number they need to aim for, this helps stop them getting bored and gibes them something to focus on as well. The last thing I think that is good as well is playing doubles, kids always love team games and it’s good for their understanding of movement and working together instead of just hitting the ball hard.

We hope this is helpful for you and any questions on this just let me know.

Thanks, Dan 🙂
