Fast serves in my Backhand Corner
Hi i have a question for fast serves in my Backhand Corner i am a Bit unsure how i should stay at the begginning for a opponent that often serves into the backhand Corner. Because my Position Is i stay at the middle of the tabel around 1 step away. But i See somehow If my opponent Serves very Sharp into my Backhand Corner fast i am to late for the serve and Mostly Play IT weak Back. Do you know how should i adjust to it i mean should i really Change my stance a Bit more to the backhand Just because my opponent IS serving fast to my Backhand even if my normal stance IS to the middle or should i still keep my normal stance and Just try to get somehow the serve. Also what Timing on the serve you would generally suggest on longer Serves with No Spin into the backhand Corner i heard i should Take them before the top of the bounce would it also be the same for Long Side backspin Serves into the backhand Corner that i should Take them before the top of the bounce ?
Yes I would always suggest players to stand for returning slightly more in their backhand half because of this reason and also you have much more reach naturally out to your forehand side with your arm if they play it over there. The most important thing with timing on fast serves is to not rush because many players make this mistake, taking them top of the bounce is fine or just slightly before. Fore a long side spin you may have to wait a touch longer because you need to judge the spin and also have a bi more time to add topspin and brush the ball more to counter act the side spin.
