I think the best way to help with this problem is firstly to always have the counter attack in your mind as your first choice and keep reminding yourself, eventually you will change old habits. For training drills, try to work on drills where the opoonent attacks first and you are only allowed to counter attck, if you block you lose the point. This will start to put more pressure on you to get in the habit of a counter attack and not blocking. Dan 🙂
