Hi Jeffrey,
I’ve just watched the video you posed of our match play, thanks for sending it in!
So the first thing I noticed is when you got a good quality spin with the first forehand open up you won a lot of points straight off and were very successful. So really try to focus on brushing the ball on your first shot and generating spin, even the slow heavy spin you actually won more points. This will make it more consistent and hard for players to block or counter as you can see when you did it well in the video.
You won a lot of points on serve as well so it seems the serve training is paying off! With your backhand topspin you had some fantastic shots but what will make it more consistent is improving the timing, sometimes you take the ball a bit too early and far away from your body or become off balance going for your backhand. So make sure you wait for the ball, don’t rush and maintain a solid base with your feet wide so you are stable when you backhand topspin, by doing this I think you can turn it into a really dangerous shot!
One last small thing is when your pushing or touching the ball just make sure you always step in and get your head and body close to the ball, mostly these shots were pretty good but to get the backspin and quality you can do more often that’s a small detail to think about. Overall I think your playing well and can definitely improve a considerable amount a lot with some small adjustments. If you want any more information or have any other questions about certain parts of your game please let us know!
P.S I love the point when your forehand hits your opponent straight in the head/glasses, that made me laugh haha!
