Answer for backhand-counter

Hey, I can definitely understand this problem because I also have the same problem sometimes in match play. Like you said the punch shot can be good but if you can play a kick shot or counter topspin it will be even more effective.

A good way to practice this is playing forehand topspin against a block and then at random your partner can do a small topspin to your backhand which you try to counter/kick shot back. This way you practice the shot on the move and coming back from your forehand side.

Another good one is getting your opponent to open up to your backhand and trying to counter this shot quickly, or even opening up to your forehand and then another topspin shot to your backhand which you counter. All these drills I have found useful to stop blocking and try to wait for the ball and counter 🙂
