Hey Gabriel, yes Liam has quite a unique backhand technique but you can for sure take away a lot of useful things. I would say his forearm starts the stroke first and then the wrist comes in slightly later and accelerates through. If you want to copy it yes you will need a slightly more open bat angle and then close over the top of the ball to get the spin and bring it down through the contact.
