Answer for distance-from-table

Hi Slicepong, I would say that a small half step further away from the table won’t do any harm if you feel more comfortable and that you have more time to perform the shots correctly. The problem only really comes when you drop back too far of course, then you give stronger opponent’s to much time to play their shots and dominate.

I’d suggest training at slightly different distances from the table and also adjusting during a rally for example when you get forced back coming into the table and vice versa when you step in over the table for a flick or push getting back out and having enough space to play your topspin.
