Hi Nomad, I would say what’s important when serving is being comfortable and confident with your grip and feel as though you can control the bat well. The finger and thumb are very important in generating spin and helping to stabilise the bat angle, so if you feel that you can get these working well in your grip that’s important. Your stance and grip all sounds correct from what you’ve said above and as you said will help get ready for the next shot.
