Answer for Forehand Topspin Video Review Please

Hi Pat, no problem at all. Videos are working perfectly now and I’ve just had a look at them, looks like a great set up in that room you have there! So first off I think your overall forehand technique is very strong and all the main key elements are there and looking good. You have a good weight transfer into the shot and the rotation is there, I think you can add slightly more rotation from the waist/hips and then shoulder turn as you come through and finish the shot, but this is quite minimal.

I would say the main things for you to focus on to take this shot to the next level is being relaxed and loose, especially in the upper body. Right now from a static position the shot looks good but when you add in movement and different ball placements and timing it will become more difficult to maintain this stable position you have if you are a little tense. So I feel if you can get slightly lower, so bit more bend in the knees and keep your weight forward and if possible practice this shot while moving, so get the robot to play the ball to 2 or 3 different positions that will help progress a lot!

I’d be interested to see how that goes with a bit of movement while doing your forehand, but overall definitely not big changes at all, you technique is good and it’s just small fine tuning that will keep it improving. Hope that all makes and any queries let me know with a comment on here!
Thanks, Tom
