Hey Edward, I’ve watched the video you sent above and there’s some things I think that will help you do better next time. The first thing is when you are pushing as I saw you missed quite a few early on in the video. Try to stay low and step in a bit closer to the ball when pushing, also try to stay relaxed and have a soft contact, this will help your control and stop mistakes on the pushing.
I think in the open rally play you did ok but it was mostly the area of short game over the table and also opening up the rally against a push which is where the mistakes happened. On your forehand open up you just need to slow down and really try to go for more spin. So dropping your bat lower when playing against a push and trying to brush up on the ball more using your lower arm from your elbow. This will stop the ball going down into the net as much and get you on the attack.
I feel these are he main 2 areas right now that will help you the most, working on consistent pushing and then getting the forehand open up to be solid and with more spin. Let me know if you have any questions on that. Dan 🙂
