Nothing like a good battle against pimples.
Short pips will generally not have too much of a reversing effect on the spin and you can treat them almost as if they are smooth. Make sure you are watching the ball closely (there may not be as much spin as you think) and mix the spins. Variation is your friend!
If they are looking to turn the corner and get their forehand in, use that to you advantage. Get them in the crossover making them play a weak shot and play into the space. Don’t let them settle too much in the backhand corner.
