Answer for psychological-aspects

Morning Tom thank you for the feedback. I think having performance based thoughts definitely helps. Just before lockdown I played in a Lincolnshire teams event and I went into solely with the objective to perform well and didn’t know what standard to expect. Came across very good players and even though lost more matches than I won I played really well and walked away pleased knowing some of the matches I lost in the 5th could have gone my way but that day I ignored results and focused on just playing positive and well.

a problem however I seem to have is when I play a old team mate in practice matches as I have improved a lot in past 8 months I put pressure on myself that I should beat him easily and at times get frustrated if a leg becomes close. He never takes a match off me and on very rare Ocassion takes me to 5 but in my head I have got it that I should be beating him 3-0 each time and to make it worst if I beat him in a game where score is 11-5 I seem to think all games should be won by such a margin. It’s not a healthy thought to have. It seems to be with him only as he was a old team mate. Any comments on what I should do and think against him. its effectively a scenario of Mayb you playing matches against Dan.

cheers Deep
