Answer for serve-receive

I’ll just be watching from home, to be honest I mostly look for the overall quality and f the serve, so just the height, spin and length. It’s important normally that the second bounce is close to the white line for sure.

Yes at a high level players often contact the ball on slightly different areas to disguise spin and add control. Often because the top part of the bat is moving quicker this is easier for long serves or topspin as you said. Backspin closer to the name like you said, but to be honest you can still generate good quality backspin hitting higher up the bat, the contact point is usually more for the disguise.

I wouldn’t worry to much about that to be fair, the main thing is to be able to control placement, spin, keep the ball low then and to understand the likely returns so you can set up your strengths in the rally. The more serve practice you do the better you will get at understanding and feeling when your serves are good or not and the consistency will of course improve.

We’ll add lots more serving videos when lockdown is over and we can film again for sure!
