Answer for Tactics against short/medium pimples

Hi Neil, We’ll definitely make a video to cover this topic over the next couple of months as I think it would be popular and helpful for a lot of members. Ok great that you’ve got used to the long pips player, against the short pips players when the attack usually its with a fast flat hits that stay low and can be tricky to lift.

The best tactics against this style are using heavy topspin and making sure you vary the placement of the ball to make it difficult for them to attack and get a rhythm. Getting the ball deep in the table is also key against short pips players to avoid quick forehand attacks that will put you under pressure.

When playing against players with slightly different/unusual rubbers or pips on both sides as you mentioned it can sometimes be easy to overthink abut their equipment and actually neglect your own strengths while focusing too much on them and their rubbers. So just be sure to know where your strong shots are and how best to get them into play and make the game as suited to you as possible.

We’ll look to make a video as I said to cover this topic more thoroughly for you but in the mean time feel free to comment back if you need any other info or other specific advice!
