Answer for training-for-competition

Hi Tom thanks for the reply. I think I’m quite happy with my overall game and against the guy with pips. against player 2 the 2 wing looper I did watch him play my mate and my mate has close to table style and he blocks close off bounce and it worked for him so I think starting off close and blocking his open ups rather than trying a fast counter may be better. And your right when I played more to his middle I had more success. One thing I noticed with him the last few times I have played him is that he doesn’t give me anything long to attack on my fh, he tends to keep his serves short and touches short and only place he drifts anything long is to my Bh. I don’t have a issue as I am comfortable on my Bh but somehow he seems to not give anything long on my fh I don’t know how he does it 😂. Only time I managed to get attack in first with my fh was when he miss read my serve.

I think with 3rd player I was ok in game it was mainly lost on the serve receives and I think I was flicking too fast, I think a controlled flick would have done, just like demo in one of your vids I need to get over it a bit more. Tbh most serves were drifting long anyway so should have waited and I think I attacked it too hard and bat angle must have been open a bit as returns mistakes were going off end.

I think may need to practice against topspin side spin serves. Mon night I did a lot of serve receive prati e but were mainly against tighter backspin pendulum or reverse serves I think I need to focus on receiving different serves with topspin more.
