Hey Kristoffer, that’s good to hear you are able to get back playing now and soon I’m sure you’ll be feeling as good as you were before with more practice!
It’s definitely good to get some feedback on matches like this and I actually think the gap between you and your friend isn’t that big, with some changes I’m sure you can start winning sets more often.
So a few things to focus on, I think your serving game looks quite good and you actually got a lot of weak returns with a push from the opponent. But sometimes on the follow up ball you ended up rushing a bit and making a few mistakes there, often if you did get this first attack on though you were in control and won a lot of points. So trying to stay relaxed and keep your body a bit more loose during the rallies will help for sure and stop some of the mistakes that happen when you get tense in the arm for example. Also really focusing on playing with spin on the first ball will help too.
I also think that sometimes don’t be afraid to push a couple of balls before attacking, this can give you time to prepare properly and not feel rushed again. I think a couple of times when trying to attack the first ball on the backhand you ended up leaning back slightly so that’s a good thing to try to focus on and watch out for. Stay low and keep your body leaning forward. Often in the open rally your backhand looked nice and confident!
So I would say the main thing for now is trying to stay relaxed and slow things down so you can keep a nice smooth action in your shots and reduce mistakes. These are only small changes really but I think will really help! Let me know if you have any questions on that.
Dan 🙂
