Yes there’s definitely some benefits to using a robot for practice. They are really good for isolating certain shots as you mentioned like the backhand flick. In terms of footwork if you can set it to play one backhand or one forehand thats good for practicing exchanging between both sides.
Also just setting it to randomly play the ball around the table is good to work on recovery and anticipating direct as you need to do well in match play. I still think doing these type of irregular drills are better done against a human opponent and the best use of the robot is for drilling technique on certain shots as you have been doing but the other elements won’t do any harm to train as well.
