Hey Mick!
Wow cool weight lifting background I like it. You look in good shape in the video! I love your backhand very strong with a lot of topspin. Watching those points to me your biggest weakness is the forehand. When the ball comes to the middle or to the forehand side you are not in the correct position for the shot. Your right foot steps in so you are only able to block with the forehand. When you’re playing as a whole you want to keep your right foot slightly behind the left foot. This will allow you to backswing and rotate into the ball with the forehand giving you lots more quality and not make you breakdown quickly.
I think start doing some forehand topspin practice with the right foot behind your left. Then bring in some transitional work doing 1 and 1… 1 forehand topspin then 1 backhand topspin and repeat focussing on keeping your right foot just behind your left.
Also from a tactical point of view you could have played a lot more to your opponents elbow (cross over point), this would have made it harder for your opponent to do those backhand hits. You could play to his forehand more to.
I think this is the key aspect to work on your game for now, it will make a huge difference having this forehand side stronger and ready for action.
It would be great if you can send me a video in a few weeks and see the progress 🙂
Cheers
Dan
