Hey! I think normally when people van punch or counter attack them it’s when the ball lands to short in the table. So to help stop this try to make sure you are getting the ball deep and near the white line of possible, this makes it much harder for them to counter or punch at you.
If they do manage to counter into a difficult position the best shot is to try to move well and spin the ball back in. This isn’t always easy but if you can get a lot of spin it will give you the safety and the control to stay in the point. You can always just try to block it back into a good position if you don’t have time as well. This sometimes can get you out of trouble to! Dan 🙂Â
