Coach CornerEquipmentHow to know when to change your rubbers
Marcos Cano asked 1 year ago

Hi there! I was wondering if you could provide some tips on how often I should consider changing my rubbers.
I’ve read on the internet that one should be able to notice when the rubber wears out, since the grip isn’t the same, etc. But I wonder if I, as a beginner, will really be able to notice the difference, since I imagine I’ll probably have gotten used to how they are now, and have forgotten how they were when I first bought them.
Is there a rough estimate we can make based on usage, type of rubber, and maintenance? For example, I’m currently using Butterfly Rozena, I play an average of 8-10 hours per week, and I clean them with the rubber cleaner around 2-3 times a week. Based on this, should I be look at what… 3, 6, 12 months?
Thanks for any guidance!
Regards,

Hey Marcos,

Yes as you said sometimes it’sess obvious when rubbers need changing if youve had them a while because you get used to the feeling of them.

I would say with the amount you’re playing then you should try to change at least every 6 months to get the maximum benefit, this way its no craxy expensive but also gives you the best performance to. If you play more often then of course you can change them more regularly. I hope this helps! 🙂

That makes sense, I’ll keep it in mind as a good reference. Thanks for the guidance!
Cheers!
