Coach CornerServe and Receivehow-to-return-serve
Divyakumar patel asked 5 months ago

My question was, what should be in our minds when returning a serve?
Firstly, recognising spin through racket motion and judging whether the ball is long or short.
And then deciding what to shot to play.

Hey! Yes your right with what you said. I think the most important thing first is if the ball is short or long because if it’s long you want to try to get used to attacking and playing a topspin shot. If it’s short of course you can’t do this. The next thing is trying to spot the spin as soon as you can to make a decision on how to return it and where how you need to adjust your shot for backspin or sidespin or topspin.

This process will help you make your decision quickly and make less mistakes.

Hope this helps and let us know if you have any other questions on this.
