Coach CornerEquipmentUpgrade Blade or Rubbers first
Ian Le Page asked 4 weeks ago

So … I’m very happy with current configuration of blade / rubber (see below) as I develop my game  …  gaining more control / consistency
But ultimately it’s too conservative and I need extra pace ..  by way of a next step would you advise to upgrade the blade or rubber first ?!?
Currently

  • Blade: Butterfly Timo Boll CAF
  • FH Rubber: Butterfly Glayzer 09C (Black 2.1)
  • BH Rubber: Butterfly Glayzer 09C (Red 2.1)

Future 2025/26 season

  • Blade: Timo Boll ALC or Stiga Clipper
  • FH Rubber: Butterfly Dignics 09C
  • BH Rubber: Butterfly Dignics 09C

Hey Ian, I would say upgrade both together rather than going through 2 sets of changes, you will be better of changing the whole set up straight away.

I would definitely go to the Boll ALC with Dignics 09c both sides out of those options, it’ll be a good set up in speed but not crazy and the feeling shouldn’t be too different to what you have right now. I’ve used the Boll ALC for a long time and it’s a great blade, it’s very popular with a lot of players to.

Dan 🙂
