how can i get maximum from my trainings?
hello, i play 2 times pe week 3-4h each time and i have like 1-2 tournaments per month, so, my question is how can i get maximum from my training time? can you recommend a schedule or something similar? i ask this because i feel that in the past 2 years i did not improve to much

Great to hear from you! Nice you play a fair amount each week and tournaments on the weekend. Firstly, can you let me know what you do in a 3/4 hour session usually?
Are you including a lot of serve and receive? Practicing against different players and working on your game plan? Once I have an idea what your currently doing ill write up a program for you 🙂
hi, 70-80% of the time i just play matches (im not keeping the score i just try to learn new service or focus on areas to improve ex: counter-topspin or improving my footwork) and 20-30% of time i do some simple drills.
its worth to mention that if i have a good plan i can increase my volume of training ( not playing matches) up to 50-60% maximum

I understand ok nice. It’s good you are not focusing to much on the match/result and working on things to improve. In your 3/4 hour sessions I would break the session up like this:
Hour 1: Technique and footwork drills
– 2 backhands and 2 forehands (focus on top of the bounce timing, movement, technique etc
– Practice forehand topspin going one cross court and one down the line, repeat
– Backhand, Middle, Backhand, Wide exercise: https://tabletennisdailyacademy.com/videos/backhand-middle-backhand-wide/

Hour 2: Serve and spin up
– Backspin serves and follow up with a spin shot. Start with forehand open up first then move onto backhand.
– Then have your opponent serve half long and long and practice attacking this ball with spin and then follow up with your attacking game

– Play some games here where you serve the whole time and have to attack.
Hour 3/4: take a 20 minute rest then some games
– In this area play some open games, have fun and give 100%.
I think what is important is thinking about your game, what do you struggle on in a match and then practice this with some simple different drills. Its not what you do, or what type of exercise, its just putting the practice in on an area that you feel needs to improve.

I find that when you play matches, practice, league, tournament etc. its always good to record your matches then you can pinpoint your strengths and weakness. Also ask a higher rated player, maybe 300 points or so, what he analyze as well as a coach.Then you will have a draft on what you need to improve and how to use and implement your stronger skills
