Coach CornerEquipmentBeginner/Intermediate Racket
GallantryX asked 3 years ago

Hey, I was looking for someone to ask this question, which is what’s a good racket for beginner/intermediate level, I play with 1-Star stiga for like 2 months, not a really good racket, but it costs only 12 dollars so yeah when do I look to upgrade my gear, and Is it really important for now?

Hey, so definitely the type of bat you have is important even when starting out, because you need to be able to generate spin etc. I would say definitely go for an all wood blade for the control and feel they offer which is important when developing and learning shots. So for example the Stiga all round classic, and for rubbers I would go for something again not to much speed, most important is the grip to help you learning how to brush the ball. A good option would be something like the DNA future rubbers or Butterfly rozena.

Any other questions on this just let me know.

Cheers

Alright, I think I can afford a new bat in the next 1-2 months, for now will learn what I can with this 1-star!
Will buy what you suggested hopefully, thank you so much tom again!
