Hey Sean so we have a really useful video on this topic so have a watch of this and it will help explain weight transfer on your forehand:
For the open up shots on the forehand the weight transfer is very similar, but the only difference is you need to push up slightly more into the ball from the ground to help play against the backspin. On the backhand side there it a lot less weight transfer because of the way you have to stand at the table for a backhand. So on the backhand open up it’s the legs bending down from the knees and pushing up into the shot but also the body rotation that is key to help generate the spin and power in the a shot.
