Coach CornerMatch playDistance for a tall Player specific question

Hi so i am by myself as you already know a tall table tennis player i am around 196 cm height. And what i do notice that If i play my topspins that If i am staying close to the table that i am getting very easy jammed in the elbow or i miss hit fast balls If i transition to my backhand also IT feels that my consistency with my topspins struggles in the transition especially but also i have the problem that If i try to control the rally from close to the table and afterwards Transition to mid distance that my Shots Lack Power and IT feels Like my opponent Is able to Block them easy and also If i stay real mid distance its more difficult for me to Recover because the Angels are a better target when you are mid distance and its more difficult to handle Balls that are played into different zones when you are staying mid distance. So i Just dont really understand what i should do with my Footwork to really get the right distance for me to Play my Topspins what i tried is to find a middle between close and mid distance that have seemed to work better and IT feels AS the only solution for this. So its really Like every small step of distance make a huge difference for my Recovery and also consistency on the table. So do you would maybe for me suggest just to learn that If Play my First topspin that i immediately step a half step Back and than Play my Topspins and also that i Just If the ball comes shorter come in and Out immediately. So should i remind my self this now in the training to really get this distance think right If playing table tennis every rally. Because i am not used to it and i think personally i have to remind myself to really get perfect distance for every ball because i think its a big Problem in my Situation

Yes that’s the best way to deal with this problem, find your ideal distance where you feel comfortable and try to get into this position and remind yourself each time. But from that position you will still need to adjust a lot for the different shots from your opponent, so moving in to take advantage when there is a weak or slower ball and sometimes giving yourself more space when the opponent plays strong or you have less time
