11-year-old
Hey, how are you guys doing, so I’ve been playing table tennis for the last 2 months, and I was pretty sad and frustrated that I didn’t start at an early age, while I don’t have a table tennis partner for now, and the practices are a little bit hard alone, I have an 11-year old brother, so I thought I teach him the strokes well so that we can practice together, and he can then be a really good table tennis player because he’s still an early age, so how can I teach him the normal strokes, while he doesn’t get bored, or even not paying attention, I’ve been trying to teach him last month, but only really tiny progress happened, and I feel like I’m not doing enough for him, any recommendation on teaching little kids, such as my brother, and actually we will both benefit out of it :D, thanks
Best regards, Mohammed!
I think the most important thing when teaching kids is that they have to find it fun and interesting, so give him little games like trying to reach 10 shots in a row and then 20 and so on. Of course you can give him tips of how to play the strokes or use the Academy videos on here for help on how to show him the correct way.
But he has to enjoy it and be interested to learn then he will be more likely to listen and try to follow advice 🙂
Alright, I’ve been doing really forehand drive all the time, haven’t changed it for like a month, but we play some matches, and rarely we play some weird ping pongs, just to have fun, which frustrates me that sometimes I get angry, while he is a kid I have to be very gently with him, I don’t show my anger, but still I don’t feel good about it
some tips to be more patient? 😀
