Hey Gary, yes I know a few players who have used Chinese rubber on the backhand. I mean the clear advantages are the slower speed offers good control and of course with the high grip is great for opening against backspin and countering over the opponents spin. 
The negatives are that it is harder to generate power and speed with Chinese rubber in the backhand as you can’t have as much of a swing and body rotation when compared to forehand. It definitely comes down to your playing style and personal preference in the end as to whether this will be good for you.
