Crossover Point in table tennis
Hi i have a question about the Crossover Point in table tennis so my goal Is to get my opponent very fast Out of Balance If he is not really moving clear to 1 Side of the table. Because of this i would prefer to use the Crossover Point for my Topspins. But i do notice that i often fail really to use the Crossover Point effectivly what i mean by this. For example my opponent stays in the middle and i try to Play into His elbow often i See opponents can Just easily still Play the ball Back with a normal Backhand Block and also i do Not notice that they really get of Balance. Do you have maybe a Idea how could i really learn to use the Crossover Point effectivly to get also opponents unbalanced after i Play my Topspins there in maybe you have a advice where i should aim better and also how can i implement it in my Game also maybe you know there some tactics Here or generall advices how to do it and also how to implement It into my Game ?
Hi Gabriel, yes it’s not always easy to hit the crossover point. To implement it into games is just keep doing it and focusing on this and it will become a habit in matches. To get your shots going more into their crossover, always think of targeting their hip or elbow of the playing hand. This will force them into making a choice between backhand or forehand and getting a bit more out of position. You can also try going for a wide angle first and then back into the crossover after which means they are already moving and it’s more difficult for them to play and easy shot from the crossover as well.
