Coach CornerEquipment Review
justN asked 5 years ago

hey guys..
i was wondering if you could do a review on two things or point me in the direction if you already have. The first is New harimoto innerforce ALC blade and the second butterfly dignics 05 rubber.
If possible a review using those runners on that blade would be great.

Hey JustN,

We currently don’t have a review on the Harimoto blade but will tey to make one in the coming months. As for Dignics 05 we recently reviewed that and you can watch it here- https://youtu.be/AQ3SENR1QQs

Thanks Tom.
I watched the review… the dignics05 looks a little more direct with more spin then the tenergy05. Ive used tenergy05 in the past and found it a little too slow and shot quality isn’t anything to write home about. My opinion only.
I’m currently using mx-p on both sides…
how do the speeds and shot quality stack up between mxp and dignics05 ?
Any chance of making a video comparing dignics05 and mx-p when ever you guys are free no rush?

Hi Justn,
The spin with the dignics I feel is easier to generate a deep shot without a really high arc which is great. Mx-p is certainly faster than dignics and you get less dwell and spin on the ball too, so shot quality in terms of spin is higher with dignics for sure and speed Mx-p. We’ll create a comparison video when we can to give you a better idea.

Thanks I’m looking forward to it.
I’m looking at making up a second bat with something a little slower then mxp as I find mxp is great for opening up against back spin and countering and works well for my BH punch however my 5th ball is struggling I think I need to slow it down a little until my technique is a little stronger.
I guess what I’m looking for in dignics05 is something a little slower but not to slow.
Is it good for opening up against heavy back spin?
Is it good on BH punch?
Serving Can it generate heaps of spin while keeping it close to the net?
Lastly how both rubbers perform back from the table.
I’m not expecting you to write back now about this I will wait for the comparison video.
Thanks again in advance

No problem at all, Ok from everything you’ve mentioned there like looking for something slower but not losing too much speed and having more control I would say dignics sounds like the perfect rubber for you! It’s fantastic for opening up against heavy backspin, really grips the ball well and can generate a lot of spin and the same when serving in terms of spin.

I also use the backhand punch a lot and I really like the crisp feeling it gave me with those shots, so definitely no problems there either. Even though the rubber is slower than something like mxp it’s still more than fast enough away from the table and we both actually felt it was very controlled with shots from a distance. The speed of it I’m sure you will find it’s still more than enough. I don’t usually advise people to specifically buy certain rubbers but by the sounds of what you’re looking for I think the Dignics 05 would be a very good match so I think worth a try for sure!

Hope that’s helpful.

Thanks for the advise Tom… how ever I watched a video of how to grip the racket properly and the mechanics of your wrist when you squeeze the racket with the small finger , ring finger and middle finger ( how I used to hold the racket) now I pinch with the thumb and pointing finger which is freeing up my wrist and allowing me to get over the top of the ball more on fifth ball and beyond.
