Hi Dan , Tom,
Hope all’s well. I would like to get some pointers for my boy, Tawahn, wearing light blue in the video. He’s currently preparing for an upcoming competition and we hope to get some advice on any areas he need to pay more attention to leading up to the games.

Cheers,
Chris

Hi Chris, looks like Tawahn is doing really well! I think the main areas for him to focus and work on for the upcoming tournament are a couple of quite basic things but that will really help him if he can get right. The first one is making sure he gets his serve short so the opponent can’t attack and out him under pressure. Sometimes long fast serves are very important as well but most of the time you want it to be 2 bounces so the opponent can’t attack.

The next one is opening up a push ball with his backhand, his forehand is looking very confident on this but sometimes on his backhand he pushed the ball back instead of opening up with a topspin.

The last one for now is just trying to keep a nice low and balanced position, sometimes on the wide forehand he got a bit off balance or came up a bit high when returning serve. But overall his technique looking strong and he’s improving, these areas if he can focus on will help him improve even more I think! Thanks, Dan
