Mostly i will end up making mistakes. If the opponent generates heavy topspin. What are the key points to concentrate if the opponent gives heavy topspin and some people give side + topspin and how to deal them . Mainly i am looking for keypoints

Hey Nagendra, so the main things to focus on when trying to control these shots are a good body position, so making sure you stay low with your weight forward, this will help you control the bat angle better and cushion the spin. Also the timing is very important on these shots, make sure you don’t take the ball too early as the spin will make it kick of the bat a lot. Wait for the top of the bounce or even just aften and try to press down onto the ball as you contact it to kill some of the spin. If you think there is sidespin as well then it’s important to aim for the centre line to avoid the ball going off sideways. Hope this is helpful. Tom 🙂
