Hey TTD Coaches,
today i had a game vs a guy that wasnt rly better than me ,but he was able to hit EVERY single shot. I tried short serves/longserves . Downspin Upspin sidespin with good quality but nothing really worked. He always returned the ball so good that i was unable to return it without issues. Do you have any Tips for someone that is currently in a game and doesnt know any more solutions to break the game patern of his opponent. Until now ( 3 hours after the game) i can not think of a possible solution on how to win the game. He attacked EVERY Ball and i was either to slow or i was able to attack it but he was always able to counter attack it or place it on the opposite side of the table

Hey Luiz, yeah in this case it is really difficult. To be honest we all play an opponent like this sometimes where you feel lost and no idea what to do and sometimes it’s just that the opponent is stronger than you at the moment.
But sometimes there are a couple of things you can do to try to avoid this happening. One simple thing is to try to really target strong attacks into their body, if you get the placement of these shots right they are very hard hard to return with good quality. This will make it much harder for him to counter attack you all the time.
If he was attacking every ball as well then it’s very important to keep the game tight and force to at least attack over the table with a flick which will be much weaker than if he can play a strong topspin. To do this you need to work on really tight and low backspin serves and of course also playing a very short touch when you return his serves to stop him getting in an attack then as well.
I would say for now these are the main, more simple things you can try against this player or someone similar you find.
