Coach CornerServe and ReceivePar Gerell-serve
lem496 asked 5 years ago

Hi Guys,
I have been enjoying Pars Serving Master Course and have had success incorporating it into my game.
I do have one question. Par mentions that he likes to serve to his opponents forehand and cross corner to give the ball more room to bounce twice. My question is, is his preference due to him being a lefty or does he find it to his advantage to serve to his opponents forehand. Should I be attempting this serve from my forehand side?

Hi lem496,
This is a good point with the serve placement, Par talked about this to us saying he prefers to serve to the opponents forehand side because its easier to get the ball shorter as it is a longer distance for a left hander. It’s not so much to do with it going to their forehand just easier to get it short, I would stick to doing this serve from the backhand side but there is no reason you can’t mix it up and still serve down the line to players forehand every now and then. Everyone is different so ita about finding what works best for your style and game.
Hope that makes sense!
